Is it normal that i've never spoken in a dream?

I was discussing dreams with my friend today and I came to the realization that I have never spoken within a dream. There are either just people talking to me or no need for speaking at all. There's never a point where I need to respond or make any noise.

    I think that makes sense. You don't really need to respond to your subconscious--it would just be literally talking to yourself.

    Me too! There's rarely any dialog in my dreams, even rarer that I talk myself.
