Is it normal that i want to be young but i want to be my age?

some times i look at my life and think about all the depressing things then wish i was a kid so life would be easier. But then i look at all the positive things in my life and i want to stay the same. is it normal that i want to be young and old at the same time!!!

I'd love to be a child again as well. Stupid Aging process.

i get the you like the lack of responsibility, but you also dont want to lost the perks of being older. i think it just important to keep your "inner" child. Im just a big goofball and that how i want to stay, it just about learning the balance that works for you.

This doesn't really make any sense.. I think everyone comes to a point in life where they wish they were kids again. But you cant you only grow older.

I wish I could be a college student in my early twenties and know what I know now at 44.

Imagine being a 22 year old college student, like you said, knowing what we know now, AND having a 50' sailboat? Who'd have time for classes?
Sorry, I love my wife, but boys will be boys, and fantasies are what makes the world go round.

For me the sailboat would have to have a pirate radio station on board.

But seriously, I had my head in the clouds from the age of 20 to 40 so if I could go back I'd do all the things I missed out on from being a bit of hedonist. I would love to:
*Get my college degree or two
*serve a couple of years in Army as a parachute rigger so I could jump out of a bird every chance I got
*go running with my father as much as possible because he's had two hip replacements & two back surgeries so he can't do that anymore.
*study, learn and practice foriegn languages and musical instruments especially Spanish and German
*focus as much as possible on my spiritual, intellectual and emotional development
*say, "no", when necessary without feeling guilty
*continue with my rock climbing instead of dropping out
*take my radio broadcasting jobs more seriously and be willing to do commercial production and voice work as much ad possible
*and a bunch of other stuff that hasn't yet come to mind.

Did ya'll get married? You used to refer to her as your girlfriend.

Yep. Tied the knot at Devil's Bridge, Antigua, thanks.
Once someone pushed me out of a plane that wasn't crashing; once was enough!
On the rest, though few are on my list, I can understand. I hope the lesson has been learned and the rest of your time will be spent making sure there's nothing else you will regret not doing.
          Persevere!
