Is it normal that i want to collect strange, preserved animals?

Stuff like squids, deep sea life(If I could ever find any, I really doubt it.), exotic bugs, and other weird stuff. As long as the creature isn't endangered, unless it died naturally. I told my mom, and she thinks it's really creepy, which is sort of understandable. I just think these animals are really fascinating though.

    100% normal, I have a large case filled with preserved insects, some of which are extinct! (They were collected many years ago and died from natural causes) but it feels really intesting having the remains of a none existent species in my bedroom, I have a large collection of fossils and such as well, many of which I found myself! You'd probably love my house -_- I'm obsessed with this sort of stuff!

    Visit museums. I understand the interest, but why take it spin yourself, go look at the exotics that others have collected for you.
