Is it normal that i want to ddos a bad site?

I have recently found a website online that sells black-market child pornography videos. I do not know how they got around the authorities, but I want to know it it is normal to DDoS sites like this into serverless oblivion, and your opinions on whether or not I would be justified to do so. I know that it would only be a few minutes of server downtime, but I think it would be totally worth it.

P.S. A DDoS attack is where you simulate thousands of computers loading a site at a time, shutting the site off the web until the simulization is manually removed. I found a way to do it that makes it legal (see www.bellum.org.uk)

  • ...How could you "accidently" stumble on to a site like that?
Is there something you want to share with us?

I was thinking the same thing!

All those questions... Well, I actually saw the link on a perfectly respectable forum and, having no idea what I was clicking, decided to see what it was. Oh my gosh, I nearly had a heart attack. That is why people should moderate the links in a post before approving a post!

You have to watch out. In some jurisdictions, there is absolutely zero tolerance for stumbling upon a child pornography site, even if it was accidental. I don't know which country you are from, but some states in the US changed the law to where if you go in by accident, you wouldn't be found guilty.

So, don't ever visit it again and forget about DDoS-ing it, it won't do you any good.

Isn't there someone you can report it too?

If I found a cp site then I would make a note of the URL and make a point of never visiting or interacting with it again in any way.

If the authority's do know about this site then they may be monitoring it's visitors. If you acceded it once you could claim it was an accident but if you were acceding it over and over and over because of your ddos attack then you could be mistook for a regular viewer of the site.

    Best to simply report it.

regardless of how you found the website please report it to the authorities this is such a heavy and severe issue and simply attacking the site will not help put a stop to the horrible abuse going on here.

no report it and they can find who made it and try stop the child abuse, even if the websites not there anymore the abuse will still be happening

These sites are often run by the government for trapping and monitoring the visitors, careful what you get in to! Good luck with your choices!

If i stumbled onto a site like that accidentally I'd report it. I'd be worried if authorities flagged you visiting it.

I agree. I'd report it before it comes around to bite you in the ass...

I suppose it's normal, but it's still a really bad idea.

Besides the already mentioned reasons, DDoS attacks can do collateral damage. Remember it's not just the one site you're hitting with traffic, it's also every part of the internet between you and them.

#1 in most modern countries it is absolutely illegal to even view a website like that.

#2 there is no legal way to hack or agress against a site. Especially not a ddos attack, unless you own the site and the rights to maintaining the site.

#3 You don't fully understand what you are considering. Just call the FBI and they will get the people responsible for hurting those kids. Doesn't matter what country they are in.
