Is it normal that i want to do something i'm too chubby to do?

Since 5th grade, I've been a bit overweight. About 30 pounds, but oddly it shows to be much more. I've tried to loes weight, but I really had problems. (This is extremely strange since my mother is a weight loss specialist) I really wanna climb walls, jump fences,stuff like that (See Assasin's Creed series or Prototype). I took parkour lessons, but failed because I am too slow,can't do a pullup (pullups surprisingly play a large factor),and similar things. Anyways, is it normal that I want to do stuff like that while I am unable to? I have a second question aswell. (This is related but not quite for this site) Anyone have any suggestions for how to solve this problem?

    If you start slow maybe you'll lose weight while you do these activities. Good luck with the parkour. I think that's great.

    All those runs and jumps that you see people do in parkour look so cool so it's definitely not weird that you'd want to do stunts like that.
    And you say you're too chubby and too slow? Instead of thinking about losing fat, think more about gaining muscle! Overweight doesn't mean it's all fat right? Just get some nice abs and strong arms to get faster and do those pull ups ;D

    heres something I cant do, but want to, push myself away from the table, if you can you should do it more and try curling weights everyday to build upper body strenght

    I'm the same way. But I play volleyball alot and try to go on runs or jogs at least twice a week. Don't drink pop, just eat healthy. That's what I'm doing and I am starting to lose weight! :D

    I don't know who can do pull-ups. Even in my best shape doing pageants and crap I couldn't do pull-ups....
    Yeah just start doing strength training and things and you can find a happy medium
    Of fun things you'll be able to do.

      You should think of parkour as a lifestyle not as something to just pick up it takes hard work to be good at but it will be well worth the time.

    As dappled said, start out slow. No one can lose weight fast in a healthy way.
    And there are many body types out there, and all are beautiful.

    first step to weight loss is the type of diet (permanent - not the temporary kind) u have. i wish u luck in doing the things u can enjoy and leading a healthier life. take little steps and u'll eventually reach your goal in partaking in these activities.
