Is it normal that i want to grow up faster?

I'm an 18-year-old girl. I've always been mentally (and physically) mature for my age. I don't have any close friends my age. I get along with adults more so than teenagers. I feel more socially accepted with adults. I don't party, I'm on the high honor role with 11 classes, and I'm a virgin. Not many girls can say that anymore. People say I'm not living my life to its fullest, but I think I'm building my inner strength for adulthood. My boyfriend just turned 21 and our relationship is stable. We've been together since July of '09. Don't talk about our ages though, please.

Are there any other teen girls like me? Am I weird? :\

thx~

yea but youre missing out on your
youth. you have your entire life to be mature and responsible, tired, over worked, etc. at 18 you should be mature when you need to be and relax when you have the free time. when your older you really wont have the time and youre gonna regret the fact that when you did you used it to do the same mundane things youre doing now.

And he was 18 and dating her when she was 15. That could be a little odd.

I don't know how being a virgin fits into a description of maturity.

I think as a teenager I was really sensible - but I've been making up for it for the past 15 years!

It's ok. You might just be 'square' all your life, but if you do go wild, it's probably better to do it when you're older and more wary of your safety.

It takes all sorts to make a world.

I hated my teenage years everyone around me had so much confidence and they were all pouty (well it seemed that way) On being an adult I've never looked back.xx

Wow. Yes, you're better than everyone else because you're a virgin. Congrats. Also, I didn't see anything about a job. That's cool you're an honor roll but come on, I had straight A's all through high school and my first year in college too until I had to work. This post just seems a bit immature. You do have a lot of growing up to do, and it takes time.

So on one hand you accuse the OP of immaturity and then go on to say "Nu-uh! I'm totally better than you!"

      Ok np np np np

      But that's a bit immature.

honey just to let you know it's not normal to want to grow up fast but i was like you ......hey second me !!!!
and all the bitches in your age who judge you let them do because you are more cool then them s/he will find you in this damn world there is some people that you can trust change your idea about the world believe me there is nothing good in growing up the problems will grow with you and being a pain in the ass!! just enjoy your age in your way you don't have to do what the other teens do live it as your style ......sometimes i guess you just think about the other teens and said(why the hell they don't grow up) well don't rush to the age it's a good thing that you get along with the adults because that mean you are not going to have problems dealing with the adults's idea when you become one .....
sorry to talk a lot with such a bad english!!

    P.S: I'm still a virgin !! and i'm proud ..

I'd rather time go slower... life is going far to quickly for me. I need more time to just, think about things. Wish I could just pause life for a few years and just stop everything, I need to get away from reality for a while. To just be alone without any intrusions for a bit.

You're fine OP. no problem there.
I get along better with younger people though, or older ones only if the age gap is small.

I'm a guy, a virgin, and also very uncomfortable around people. I embarrass very easily. But, that said. Most of my friends are 25+ and I'm 22. I don't drink, I don't party(like drunken party, lost my clothes sort of thing). So I'll say it's fairly normal.

But I would say your probably immature in some ways that aren't typical but in other profoundly mature. My mom would say the same thing about me and my dad says "I'm not living life to the fullest". It's quite the norm around here for 18 years old to date someone in their early twenties, when I was 20 I flirted with someone your age. So, I'll say it's very normal... and you're not alone.
