Is it normal that i want to kill my boyfriend's cat?

My boyfriend and I have been together for four years. He has a total of five cats, which doesn't really bother me.
What does bother me is that one of the cats seems to think its ok to piss on everything in sight, and my boyfriend can't be bothered to do a damned thing about it.

I have tried explaining to him that the constant smell of fucking cat piss is driving me insane, have offered to find ways to try to curb the cat's bad habit, but he wont even consider listening.

I care about my boyfriend very much, and do want to stay with him, but the thought of having to deal with that fucking cat pissing everywhere for the remainder of its natural life is enough to make me want to either kill the damn thing, or just dump the boyfriend.

If he can't be bothered to deal with the cat he apparently adores, then how can there be any possibility of a sustained healthy relationship?

I agree. If it's male and hasn't been neutered, then that's what the problem seems to be. If u don't wanna deal with it deliver it to a rescue service or shelter for animals. Why the hell would anyone have 5 cats anyways? That's insane.

He cares about the cats more than you. It happened to me once. My agresssive pit bull was on the verge of biting one of us, including my toddler and baby and he thoguht it was all in my head. i told him he could get his dog and himself and get the fuck out. The worse than going through stuff like this is actually stay on a situation like this.
He already wont listen to you ina small matter like this. When time comes to something bigger, you will be invisible.

The problem is not the cat. it's your boyfriend.

Well, now the boyfriend isn't making the cat piss on things...I'm sure the cat is quite pleased with itself for pissing on everything...

It is his cat and by the sound of it, he loves this cat. Don’t kill the poor cat, its your bf's fault that it isn't trained. If he won't do anything about it, then he doesn't care about hygiene. Do you really want to be with someone like that?

I take it the cat is a tom that hasn't been neutered. If so, take him to the vet and get him fixed. Either that, or take him to the pound, dump his ass, and tell your boyfriend he ran out the door.

No dont kill the cat. First off your boyfriend is a pig if he enjoys sitting in piss all day and I would reccomend you leave him. This is not the cats fault. Your boyfriend refuses to train your cat. If the cat was trained properly it would ONLY pee in a litter box.

So this is very abnormal. It is ok if your cat have accidents the first week or day while training it. The cat is not the problem it is your boyfriend. He does not care enough about the cat to pay attention to it. Its like blaming a child with an enabling parent. If the mother lets the child get away with everything and the kid becomes a spoiled little monster its the mothers fault.

She should have set the rules. Your boyfriend has no business owning a cat. Just leave him and let him deal with the piss himself. That or take the cat to training without permission when he is out. Dont hurt the kitty. It is not the cats fault your boyfriend is lazy. It could also be spraying. You can train them out of this. Take them to a training class. Also there is this show “Catwhisperer” I think. Maybe give him a call if nothing else works. He will help you with your pissing cat problem.

Like other people said it could be because it is an un-fixed male cat, or it could be because he has 5 cats and the litter box is so disgusting that the cat doesn't want to use it anymore. Tell your boyfriend that it is you or the cat. I bet he would choose you. After that you can either find someone to take the cat or take it to a shelter.

Get a kitty letter tray an make it go in there. Let it out side more often. Cats are pretty routined with there toileting an generally poo an pee once a day.

do you live together? if not then tell him you are not going there until he trains his cat to not do that anymore. if i was you then i would be thinking "if this is how he treats his cat then how is he going to be when our babies nappies need changing"... he will probably just let the kid piss and shit all over the house and laugh about it.
but i am pretty strict when it comes to discipline and hygiene.

  • If it's a male cat, he is marking his territory so I suggest if your bf hasn't already done so, get him neutered, it can help reduce the problem immensly.

If it's a female, look up suggestions on how to condition feline behaviour and encourage the cat to not pee out of the kitty box.

Take the cat, put in box, drive to SPCA or similar animal rescue service (dependent on country), put on desk, say it was found (hopefully it's not microchipped) and then it will get re-homed. Go home, don't mention cat. Act surprised when it goes missing. Unfortunately, if the animal is microchipped it will be returned to your boyfriend. Plead with him to agree to re-home it.....if not then 'accidentally' reverse over the cat when coming out the drive :)
