Is it normal that i would rather talk about nothing than not talk?

Well I was talking to him for months and we liked eachother and were always together and constantly texting eachother. We've been officially dating for a week now and the other day we kinda ran out of things to talk about since we are talking all the time. He told me he was just gonna text me later, and I was kinda offended, because we've talked all the time for months already. We got into a little argument about it all and I'm just kinda upset about it all. He hasn't texted me for a few hours and I just want to hear from him. He's never done that before, if we ever ran out of things to say we'd talk about nothing. I just feel like I'd rather talk about nothing than not talk at all. I don't know if I'm just over reacting or if he's being moody with me... Ugh

You're over reacting 38
He's being insensitive 9

  • don't worry now is the little pause between you two, take advantage of this to do some things for yourself without thoughts of him, then when you talk again it wil be interesting

You sound very young but I can understand where you are coming from. However, look at it from his point of you. You guys talk all the time and practically know everything about each other, thus boredom ensues. My suggestion would be to stop texting and start talking in person. It's better to have a conversation in person than in text, and sometimes having an awkward start can lead an awesome conversation.

    • Yeah I'm 17. We talk in person when we are together every day.

Then I don't know what else to suggest other than to confront him about his behavior.

        • It's okay, I think I was over reacting a bit when it all happened.

I think you both need lives. If you're texting eachother all of the time then you guys probably might not have anything better to do.

...what was so funny about that?

Then focus more on what you're doing and texting. Constant contact only hurts relationships in the long run.

I did, but I've been fucked up all day so I don't know what we're talking about or why you're pissed. Quit hitting your dad or whatever. You're not the boss of me.

  • I feel like I was over reacting now lol
I wrote this in the moment, and it seemed like a bigger deal then. But now when I think about it I feel like it's no big deal. Just in the moment, it was kinda upsetting because it was the first time it happened.

Silence is golden. I see where you're coming from but it does sound like he just needs space. It's sometimes better to have long convos every few days because then you will have something to talk about.

"He hasn't texted me for a few hours..."

I think you should calm down. Sometimes it's a hassle to have to talk all the time.

I dont know sadly i fall victim of the nothing conversation ..Well in my opinion they seem like nothing and this was validated by my boyfriend but what I took from it is that if someone cares about you or feels they have a problem with what you say, they would tell you and talk to you regardless ..I think you should wait for him to text you and see where it goes from there ...guys are weired that way an its only been a few hours maybe hes busy with something or maybe he just needed that time to himself..k hope it all works out :)

    Cheers
