Is it normal that indecisive cats bother me?
Specifically when my cat is on a desk or something and she gets ready to jump down and then... doesn't. She just keeps standing there, looking kind of awkward.

I <3 indecisive cats. I wonder what made them change their mind, what process is - even now - going on in their furry brains. I like it when you see them prepare to jump and change their mind a few times, like a diver on a high board. They are showing what they think are their limits. If you compare this with their actual limits, you learn something about how confident the cat is feeling.
I can't really say if it is or isn't normal, really. I'd find it more amusing than irritating.
It does, however, annoy me when I'm trying to get them in or out of somewhere and they take their good sweet time, standing around and contemplating over whether or not they want to enter or exit a room before the door is closed.
I have one cat in particular who makes me want to bop her over the head with a magazine every time I shut her out of the bathroom because she can't make up her mind if she wants in or not, then suddenly decides she does and begins yowling and clawing at the door while I'm trying to take care of business. lol it annoys me when i'm playing with mine and she looks like she's going to pounce but doesn't so i'm waving the toy around forever
Being indecisive about going out and coming in can get really annoying! Especially when you own more than one.
