Is it normal that I act like an alpha?
I think that is why me and my dog love each other so much, because I fully understand what she tells me and she knows exactly what I am telling her.
When she barks at me it is like an insult that needs to be silenced so I attack her, I close my mouth around her throat and growl, when she finally lowers her tail and lies down on her back then I let go and give her a final growl.
Instead of just playing with her with a toy we play fight instead. We jump at each other and roll around, but she isn't a big dog so she has trouble keeping up with me but she tries. She bites me and I bite her its very fun.
When she does something bad I don't just shout at her, I just bite her ear. It works much better if you ask me.
By the way I'm still a kid and my Mum thinks I'm raving mad.

    When you put your mouth around your dog's throat you're terrifying the shit out of her and she thinks you're going to kill her. Beautiful relationship you have there.

      well actully thats the way you show that you are the boss and its normal so he is the alpha and she knows it

    One moment but when I put my mouth around her neck it is making sure I am the alpha. That is why she respects me and loves me to bits and me too. I would die for her. She follows me around and she always comes to me not to the rest of my family so I think she loves me. When she's scared she runs into my arms and licks my face and I tell her its ok. So she loves me.

    most people don't understand relly about dogs but you do and thats nice, she sees' you as her leader and trusts you no matter what. what is whot it is mean to be like you soud be happy that you have that connection with her :)

    you have very special relationship with your dog, you can understand her and talk to her on her own language. Its normal, and you can consider it as a special ability

    Not only is it NOT NORMAL, it's NOT POSSIBLE because dogs are not true pack animals. True pack animals, such as wolves, mate for life and both share in raising the young. Dogs do not do this. Dogs in the wild will occasionally "run" with other dogs, but it is not a true pack (for the reasons already stated) and because dogs do not usually remain with the group for long perios of time. For example, female dogs must remove themselves from the group when they have pups because the other dogs will kill them -- this does not happen with wolves.

    To your dog, you are a source of food, nothing more, and the dog does what is necessary to keep the food coming. If you don't believe me, have someone else start feeding your dog hamburger and steak instead of the processed dog food you feed her and see how quickly she forms a "pack" with that person and leaves you high and dry!

    Your Mum is right, you ARE "raving mad" and she should put a stop to this foolishness before you have to be committed. A good start would be to get rid of the fleabag because you obviously aren't sane enough to own a pet!

    Don't listen to these people. As long as your not hurting your dog you can do whatever the hell you wanna. Nice relationship with your dog. Jut please be careful not to do that with other dogs because they will bust you up!

    It's not crazy behavior but it needs to stop. Humans should relate to dogs as humans and dogs as dogs.

      the owner is the alpha or the dog wouldn't take you on and dogs came from wolfs so its in their blood so they only respect the alpha
