Is it normal that my bf adds females on xbox and then texts them?

My boyfriend is an avid xbox 360 gamer. He constantly gets new friend requests from females and males that he plays with online. He is charismatic, and most people (both sexes) seem to fall in love with his personality constantly messaging him via the xbox. Usually when he gets a request from a female, they end up texting each other on his cell about stupid stuff throughout the day. It bothers me, because I'm not that way. I don't think it is normal to start chatting it up with someone you're playing a game with one second, and the next second, talking to her about her relationship issues and life story. I should add too, that it seems that they are the ones opening up to him. Is this normal: to randomly add "friends" to your xbox live account? and then to start [cellphone] texting them about B.S.?

    No, it's not normal. It's good that he's not cheating, but it's still not a good thing to do. Talk to him about it.
    I'd be really pissed if it was my boyfriend, haha.

    I think it's as normal as talking to people online. You can actually talk to people on Xbox Live so your boyfriend probably found a bunch of interesting people to talk too.

    Its normal. I do this all the time in games. The only reason for any concern would be what they are messaging about.

        Could do the rest too but if she tosses his ass, he can't sit, not sitting and playing video games kinda really sucks a lot of dicks, so I mean you throw his ass in the the lake he's fucked, her problems are all solved... No more text bull shit shenanigans and no more playing xbox, but I do have to admit chicken fingers and wrestling games are the bomb....

    Not normal. He shouldn't be texting other females in the first place. As soon as a partner gets close to the opposite sex it becomes emotional cheating. That's why it's better to not even chance it and not do it. He needs to knock that stuff off.

    It could lead to an emotional affair, which is pretty much cheating and could escalate even more. Hopefully he is not talking with them about relationship strifes.

    He's not cheating. I've seen the texts and they are innocent.
    @emm: He says they are just friends.
    I'm wondering if it has anything to do with his age...he's 21.

    it can be bothersome and makes you jealous if you see him txting other females.
