Is it normal that my brother has 22 cavity's, and he says he brushes?

Now he's in high school and his teeth aren't abnormal looking from the outside, aside from the fact they're a bit yellow looking. Ew.

Now I went to the same dentist at the same time and I had one very minor cavity in a baby tooth that was very loose, which I would consider normal, but is it also considered normal for my brother to have 22 cavity's even if he says he brushes his teeth normally.

So you had a cavity in a baby tooth?
You do realize you're supposed to be over 18 to use this site.

I love how manly you are, Virgil. I too don't think it's normal to still have baby teeth at 18 years of age.

        Oh why thank you Rose.
It must be all the male-enhancement supplements, a good breakfast and clean, wholesome living.

I'm 30 and I still have a baby tooth. I had an x-ray done and the dentist said that there was no tooth underneath it.

that sounds pretty extreme . I don't think he is brushing or at least not doing a good job of it .

There are lots of reasons why he could have so many cavities: gum disease; hasn't brushed them properly in the past; eats or drinks sweet stuff after he cleans them at night; heredity

His problem, not yours, but from personal experience he'll be sorry when they're totally beyond repair and he ends up with false teeth ....yuk ..... kissing has never been the same

If it's not some health issue he has no control over , I can't feel sorry for . I don't want to sound like a jerk but I think it's really disgusting for someone to neglect their teeth at all never mind have a mouth full of cavities because of it , like you said ... YUK!

I didn't neglect mine except in the sense that I couldn't afford to go to the dentist for about 15 years after my marriage broke up, and I've still lost all my teeth

I guess they're his teeth so I'd stop worrying about it if I were you

I lost my last baby tooth when I was 8 or 9. I too think you are a bit young for this site.
