Is it normal that my cat is less tolerant in her older age?

My cat is about twelve years old, but she's still very spry and energetic. But recently she's become more ornery and far less tolerant. I have a habit of teasing her, but even when I pet her nicely with no intentions of annoying her, she still tries to scratch me, (She usually knows when I have no intention of bothering her), and she's become more skittish and sensitive to loud noises.

So is it normal that my cat's acting more ornery and less tolerant in her older age?

My cat does the same thing... Lol but then again I've always annoyed her and she didnt like me but in her old age I have been really loving (not saying I wasn't already loving to her) and she loves me back and doesn't attack me... Lol she can't scratch me anyways (she was declawed) but she does bite. Lol I'm rambling...

My oldest cat is 11 and she's very cranky. She doesn't like any of the other cats, especially the youngest one, she gives her hell on a daily basis. I guess it's normal for any living thing to get cranky with age lol

Hmm that sounds rather normal for a cat always making sneak attacks on me >_>
