Is it normal that my cat only drinks water off his paw?

Whenever my cat wants to drink something, he dips his paw in and drinks it off is paw. He does it with water, and once or twice even with my coffee when I wasn't looking. He NEVER drinks any other way. I've never seen another cat do that, I know that It probally can't harm him, but is it normal? Does anyone else's cat drink like that?

    My moms cat used to do that. And my old cat used to only ever do that. It's cute lol. It's normal.

    One of my cats did. I bought a cat water fountain because he kept putting his paw in the water and shitting it up making it nasty and undrinkable every day. Now he drinks from the fountain and if he does stick his paw in there's a filter that keeps the water clean.

    My cat does this when he thinks his water isn't clean enough. He stirs it with his paw and then has to get the water off it.

    One of mine will only drink running water, like out of the faucet or a moving stream.
