Is it normal that my cat opens doors?

Is it normal that my cat can open up the doors in my house? If the door has been left slightly ajar, she will hook her paw around it and pull it open. And if our back door is closed, she can jump up and pull down the handle to open it.

As a result of all of this, she has a limp on her "door opening" paw. Is it normal for my car to be doing this, and if so do other peoples pets limp as a result?

    my cats can open doors too, they're really crafty. i still can't figure out how they unlock them.

    One of my cats can open doors too. I was always wondering who left the door open in the basement and I found the guilty one. Damn cat.

    My cat does this too, also, he will dip his paw in his water bowl before drinking.

    I've seen videos of cats doing this.

    Not just pushing a door open, mind you, but actually turning a knob.

    I had a cat that used to do that, but I can't remember her limping as a result of this. It sometimes took her a few attempts, but in the end she even managed to open the front door that way! So what we did was to change the door handle to an upright position and install a cat flap.

    i have to lock the back door so my cat doesnt open it to get out. its normal for cats to figure out how to open doors. im sure you will find heaps of videos on youtube of cats doing that.

    My cats have never done that. Mine have made their own kitty door in my screen door.

      I had to put metal wire on the bottom of my screen door because of that. Now my cat and the dogs just scratch higher up.

        Hey, i should try that. My dogs arent the problem. Just the cat. But my dogs take advantage of the newly designed door.
