Is it normal that my cat tries to bite her toes off?
She likes to bite down on her toes and then she pulls. It's sort of cute.

That's normal.
Cats shed their nails (similar to how snakes shed skin--a case just pops off), however cats often have to ease them off. They will do this every few days.
My fat cat used to bite and pull his nipples, it was a bloody mess. He also did a very weird noise.
I just put my 19 year old precious kitty to sleep yesterday. Sad day. But anyway she never did that. Now my 8 year old boy cat does that with his nails. Doesnt bite his toes though. Like the above poster said, they are just helping the nail shedding process.
One of my cats does this, but just with his nails, not his actual toes. Cats shed their nails in layers, so my cat tries to help the process along by pulling on them with his teeth.
