Ever since we first brought her home my cat has sat on your lap every time anyone poops. Our bathroom door doesn't have a lock and she's very crafty so even if you close the door she's still able to get in. Even if you cover your lap, she hops onto your back, shoulders, feet, etc. I don't even mind it anymore but I just don't know if it's normal.
I have to bring my animals into the bathroom when I go. I can not leave them for 5 minutes without them scratching at the door. It drives me nuts. So I just open the door and let them in. They just walk around jump on the sink and jump in the tub while I finish and when I am done I open the door and leave. They follow me. However I have heard some toddlers do this with their parents. So I guess it is just something you have to deal with. Not a big deal. My brother thinks I am strange for this but it not like they can tell anyone what they saw.
I've had a couple of cats in the past who liked to follow my family members and me into the bathroom and scrub against our legs while we used the toilet. Every cat has its own quirks, and they're normal.
