Is it normal that my cats like to chew plastic? I think they might just like the sound of it because when I crumple it in their faces, they go crazy and start getting all hyper. Sometimes they do it in the middle of the night... it's sooo annoying.

    Cats chew on everything. And they will swallow it. Keep it away from him.

    My cat licks plastic bags. At first I thought PICA! But back to reality and a quick google search for a pet owner forum made me see it was normal. Not healthy, but normal.

    I think it was more of a nervous habit than anything because since we moved to our new apartment they haven't been chewing it lately. Also, this place is kept a lot cleaner because there are less roomates so there's never any garbage laying around for them to get.

    It's normal but, as noted, dangerous for your cat. Try to stop it before your cats needs surgery to remove it from them (it happens).

    I would not let them chew on plastic to much it can't be to healthy. If they actually eat some sometime it will cause serious problems for them if it is to big to pass through them.
