Is it normal that my cuticles itch?

My cuticles itch whenever I think about them, the sides of the nail, I have to rub another fingernail
On them to stop it. J know it's in my head because sometimes it never stops. Anyone else? It might be a nervous sort of thing as well, as I notice it happens when I'm anxious, but then won't stop fir hours!

  • It's probably not normal but I do so as well - it's actually an improvement from when I was younger, and when the cuticles of just about every finger was ripped to the point of bleeding. Now I generally stop myself before that happens.

I know what you mean - after one graze it definitely feels itchy. But I read somewhere that the two main causes of cuticle picking is anxiety and boredom - not sure which one applies to you, but maybe then you can monitor moments when you feel either anxious or bored and conciously prevent yourself from scratching again.

    Hope this helps! :)
