Is it normal that my dog eats birds

My dog sometimes catches birds. I don't know if he eats the but they are flat ( like he sucks all the blood out of them) when I find them. He is a blue cattle dog. Or ACD as the yanks call them. He bites people.

Yes this is normal. In the wild the dog might kill smaller animals be it birds, cats, rabbits and munch on them. Cats eat things like birds, rats and so on. This is natural. Dogs will also sometimes bring you dead birds as a gift. It means they respect you as head of pack. My dog use to Akita use to kill birds all the time. We had a bird catcher.

My dog will eat anything that tries to run away. That's just the way dogs are.

We used to have a dog that ate sparrows. Not sure if it's normal exactly, but he never got sick from it.
