Is it normal that my dog is spoiled rotten?

I have a 2-year-old miniature schnauzer named Regina. She is spoiled rotten and has been this way eversince we got her. My mother and I give her everything she wants, let her sleep on our beds, and give her lots of affection and attention. She's sweet and funny most of the time. Other times, she's demanding and acts like a spoiled brat. Is it normal for a dog to be this spoiled? Do any of you have a spoiled dog as well?

I would like to make a corny joke about the dog being expired.

      I am living that dream.

OP, you should refrigerate your dog. Frozen it will last for up to three months or up to two weeks at 4degC.

My husband and I have a small chihuahua and he complains that I spoil him (the puppy) too much. I don't care, though. I don't overfeed him or feed him too much of anything that might jeopardize his health. We both take him for walks regularly and get him checked the vet.

I think he deserves to be spoiled. He doesn't have a lot of the luxuries or entertainment we do, like the internet, music, or being able to communicate with others like us humans can communicate with others. I can only imagine how lonely he must get so I try to give him all the love, cuddles, warmth, attention and affection he can get.

I always get him to sit / sleep on my lap while I'm on the computer and he sleeps in bed with me under the covers with his body snuggled up to mine.

I have wool sweaters for him to keep him warm during winter and am even contemplating buying him some nice, comfortable, warm shoes.

Even though he's very small and I refer to him as my "puppy", he is actually 11 years old now so I want to make the rest of his senior years as loving, warm and comfortable as possible.

Incidentally, we both share the same birthday. November 20th. ^.^

My dog is spoiled completely rotten. She gets leftovers, she picks out her toys, gets all kinds of attention, sleeps in my bed(also has her own), and I give her more things for her birthday and Christmas than I give my own family members haha.

My dog is honestly the closest family and friend I have. We seem to understand each other. She hates the people I hate and loves the people I love. She knows when I'm sad or depressed and tries to cheer me up. She greets me at the door and sees me off when I leave. She is more compassionate and, as odd as it sounds, human, than a lot of people in my life. She is always there as much as she can be. And I try my hardest to do the same. I would say she deserves to be spoiled and I bet your fuzzy face deserves to be spoiled too.

  • You can give your dog lots of love and attention but also be their leader, which is healthy for them. Spoiling the dog to the point where they become demanding or stubborn is not good for the dog. I have a mini-schnauzer too and she's an absolute sweetheart but she knows I'm the boss of her. She's the boss of my husband though, but that's his problem. :D Hahaha.

My dog is spoiled and though sometimes his antics are annoying, he still means well.

No, but if you think they're spoiled, try decreasing the times in a day that you let them do something. My dogs don't actually really bother me or are spoiled because we keep them outside and try to give them a few things they need. Not too much or else they'll become demanding for more.

I guess it's okay, until the dog becomes the ultimate arbiter of what men you can bring home, or how much of your dinner you can enjoy yourself.

I did spoil my dog, then she became an annoying dog, cute indeed, but annoying as hell. Then my boyfriend took her away from me, my dog had been living with him for like half a year, everytime she barks for no reason or acts like a jerk he punches her, or put her on the wardrobe as punishments. Now she's back, turned to be a lovely little dog, sometimes still annoying though, but much better then before. So I'm not gonna spoil her anymore. But it's very hard, especially when you looked into her lovely face and innocent eyes.Hard to be strict to her

He trained the fucking dog, didn't he? She's lucky she had a boyfriend who did no more than punch the barking sack-of-shit. Most guys would have picked up the nasty little POS and drop-kicked it up side a wall!
