So, i have three dogs. One of them, Jennifer, used to be so grouchy and would bark at me all the time. But ever since the third dog came a long, she became anti social, depressed, and never eats. You have to force her to eat and if she does eat, she eats only part of her food. Is this normal for a dog?
That happened to me when I got 2 new puppies. My doschund wouldn't eat. I realized that I ignored him so I gave him more attention. Your dog is most likely feeling replaced. Give your dog alone time with you once a day it works and she will be back to normal!!
Dogs can be very finicky eaters. I have two dogs and they're very fussy eaters, especialy the female. (Fox Terriers)
It almost seems like she isn't eating anything. We play games and do all sort of things to get her to eat, even feed her off a spoon.
The male has been on special prescription dog food for kidney disease. After trying a few different brands, which he would not eat, we finally found one that he will eat on his own.
The funny thing is that they will try to eat each other's food when they want no part of their own.
This is definitely a question for her vet. In the meantime I'd suggest spoiling her a bit with food -- healthy and natural of course -- that she enjoys and see if she indulges then.
