Is it normal that my dreams last for months and years?

When I wake up, every day, I believe that my dreams were reality. They mimic reality in a very vivid way and on several occasions I had truly thought I had aged over 20 years in an alternate life. Anyone?

    I have had the same, except I got married.

    That was the most painful dream to ever wake up from.

    I had one years ago where I started out in the 6th grade and became a CIA spy and then I woke up when I was about 20 in the dream
