Is it normal that my ds game will not save?

[This may be off topic but anyways]

Well, I was playing Harvest Moon Grand Bazaar.
I have a slot 1 saved and it is a girl. So I decided to make another one as a girl.
I tried saving it and it stays as a black screen. Is this normal?
Please help! : ]

    I love the harvest moon series! Read the instruction manual. It could be that you can't save two files with characters of the same gender.

    Harvest Moon games seem to have a tendency to do that. Don't matter what game it is. It can happen.
