Is it normal that my grandmas dog is scared of me?

well you see, my grandma got a new dog that is about Nine months recently, and all it does is cower and shake in the corner until i'm gone. I visit my grandmas every sunday afternoon through until the evening, and im wondering whats going on about this dog. I have never done anything to hurt it and never would. my grandma has another dog aged seven that loves me very much. i'm not sure wether a child has beaten it before my grandma purchased it or what. please tell me if its normal and leave suggestions/advice on what I should do.

    It could be that it's either afraid of your gender (assuming that you're a boy) or afraid of strangers. When it concerns animals, things like this take time and patience. Be nice to dog whenever you can, try to feed it little treats so it associates you with something positive. Don't every pet the dog unless it wants you to. Eventually, it should come around and learn that you're its friend.
