Is it normal that my kitten keeps meowing when left alone ?

I got a new Kitten and its so hyper , it keeps running all around the house so we locked it in a small bathroom and put food, water and everything it needs inside and we check on it regularly and take it out to play then let it in the bathroom again but when we go out and leave it alone in the house it keeps crying and we can't stay 24 hours with it . Why can't it just play by itself or sleep or do anything?

Did you even research this before getting the kitten?

While I agree with the other posts you shouldn't lock it in the bathroom, even if it has everything it needs. Other info here is wrong too, like cats needing constant attention. It's a kitten, it will be hyper and most likely needy. Animals tend to calm down after being neutered or spayed... And it will probably become less needy as it grows.

It's lonely and it's not appropriate and in fact very cruel to lock it away in a room by itself. You obviously know nothing about kittens, because running around and being hyper is totally normal for a kitten, so take it back to wherever you got it and get yourself a fluffy toy

I agree with you Ellenna. It's not good to lock any animal in bathroom.

Cats need constant attention, it's probably better off if you return it, next time have some common sense.

Cats even adult cats shouldn't be locked up you're not fit to look after a kitten. I suggest you give it away to someone who knows what they are doing.

It was my young sister who brought it not me. And we didn't ignore it, we gave it everything it needs from food to toys and always checked on it and played with it but once we get out of home , it starts crying. Anyway we Gave it to our nanny to take care of it cuz she has many kittens to take care of it because we felt sorry for it

Don't lock it in a room...come on!! That's almost the worst thing you can do.
Let it wander around the house when you're gone, make sure it has a place to poop and it's used to using it, leave a few toys and a scratching post, and that's pretty much all you can do.
