Everynight my baby kitten (like 5months) sucks on her side (fur/skin). She also purrs REALLY loud when she does, and you can't make her stop and she gets all weird when she does that... I was just wondering if maybe anyone elses cat/kitten does that too and if they know what it is? Thank you! :)
haya is right! I had a kitten when I was young who was weened really early, and she always liked to crawl up on peoples chest/neck and suck their ear lobes. It was so cute :)
Yes this is totally normal. Kittens are the most comfy when they would have been suckling their mum. I have seen kittens through my line of work that replace thia with their fur, their paws, their owners fingers or clothes, or even a security type blanket. They usually grow out of it, but if it doesn't, it won't harm him :)
You don't specify which breed cat you have but Siamese kittens have this strange attraction to sucking on wool/woolen items.
Maybe your cat even if it's not Siamese is doing something similar?
Either way as long as she's not making her skin sore or losing loads of fur because of it, I wouldn't be overtly concerned.
I don't know what that is but I know my cousin's cat, a bit younger than yours I think, sucks on his back left foot, it seems so weird it's like us humans sucking on our thumbs at night as babies, but for a cat, always does it when it goes to sleep, and also makes a loud sucking sound
