Is it normal that my kitty has an...unusual snack?

I clean my ears just like I hope all of you do and one day my kitty comes into the bathroom and finds my used cottonswab in the trash can. She picks it up and drags it to the floor and starts LICKING the cottonswab. At first I take it away, then I look up online that cats see a nutritional value the human gives from his/her earwax and now I'm thinking its not THAT bad... Should I stop? Is it normal?

yes! my bestie is vet and she's always complaining about how animals she sees on a weekly basis that have to have q-tips, cotton balls and tampons removed from their intestines. it's not a good idea to allow your pets to go through your trash.

There's nothing wrong with that, provided you do it the right way.

Plus it's a good idea to do this if you are allergic to cats. It helps reduce dander.

One of my cats ate a scab off my foot once. She was licking my foot, the scab came off, and she ate it! My other cat likes to dig through the kitchen garbage, although she never eats any of it. It's not usual, but it's not healthy for cats. Keep the garbage can in a cupboard, since eating cotton balls probably isn't good for your cat's digestion, and could get get stuck in their stomach or intestines.

They might want to lock the cupboard too. Cats are crafty. My cats go in there all the time when a storm comes or I'm about to give them a bath, one of my old cats (he's gone now D:) could even open a door that was shut. :P
