Is it normal that my little cousin plays with her toys like this?

When my cousin, who is six, plays with her toys, she likes to play doctor a lot. But not normal doctor. She like to make them use catheters (only if they're a boy), get legs and arms amputated without pain medicine, cough up blood, things like that. I talked to my aunt about it and she said I shouldn't worry, but I've never seen someone so young play in such a gruesome way for her age. Should my cousin get help?

    Well it's her personality. But I've NEVER heard such a thing as this! Maybe too many horror movies? Maybe the tv influenced her. You should ask her questions while she's doing it and see what she says. But as of now, until you find out the actual reason WHY she's doing this, it's not normal.

    she seem's fine to me but maybe she waches films that are over her age, does your aunt wach doctor house, scrubs or some thing like that???

      No, she watches things like American Pickers, Fox News, and food shows, but her dad's girlfriend du jour probably does/

      Not in those words she doesn't, but she understands that there are things that make you sleep during surgery and I guess her dad explained what a catheter is.

    I don't think it's normal. Maybe she's being abused or maybe she wants to be a doctor. Talk to the people around her or ask her yourself.
