Is it normal that my mom gets so mad about this?

I have a friend and every day her family gets together and reads a bit of the bible. Im an athiest. Whenever i go over to her house and they do that i just sit there and dont pay attention. Whenever my mom hears about this, she gets really mad at me for listening to that. I dont participate and religion pisses me off and i would never believe in god but my mom keeps saying if i hang out with them, im gonna start being all religious.

    Your mom sounds very protective, maybe she has had bad experiances with religious people in the past? Maybe if your mom meets the family, she will realise that they are nice people and are not brainwashing you or anything.

    she honestly sounds like a b****. No offense. Besides you cannot be an atheist without knowing the other side of the coin. SO get your ass to a library, check out some bibles, torahs, and qurans. Then decide on religion. (Unless you mean organized religion which kind of erks me too sometimes).
