Is it normal that my older cousin spanked me?

Okay, so I'm an 18 year old girl, and have a cousin in his early 30s. we have been fairly close for the last couple of years, and he has grown very protective of me--almost like a father. He tries to keep me away from boys, scolds and lectures me for taking risks, etc. The other day we went shopping together, and as we were leaving the mall I made a witty comment to him. It wasn't rude, or even all that witty, but before I knew what was happening, he landed a hard smack on my bottom and told me, "you watch your mouth young lady!" I was shocked, and it actually hurt. So I didn't say anything. But now he often gives me a playful swat or pat when he's lecturing me, or is behind me. Just wondering, is this at all normal? Is he coming on to me? Or just being a protective cousin?

    He wants to fuck you no damn cousin spanks an 18 year old isn't it obvious he wants to bone you that's why he doesn't want boys around you

    I think it really depends on how you feel about him acting like a father figure if that is what he's doing, talk to him, please speak up if it makes you un comfortable or if you suspect he's doing it for the wrong reasons, if he is just acting father like then you know what they say "you're never to old..."

    Might have been normal in the 60's lol
    my grandfather used to have a habit of swatting, patting, smacking, slapping, and spanking women's bottoms whenever one was bending over or if he was passing by behind her or just about any time he came in contact with one. Family. Friends. Me.. Until one day I turned around, gave him a stern look and said "papa, that isn't nice." and walked away. He hasn't done it since.

    Could of been playful. Could also be that he just wanted an excuse to hit you ass. Either way, I agree with the above poster, tell him that this not except able and if he continues on, tell a trusted adult.

    If you`re an 18 year old woman he doesn`t have the right to be acting like a father figure in the first place..and as for the scolding and spanking I would have punched him in the face

    Cousins by blood? If so, steer away from that shit, you don't want to start that. They do that kind of crap A LOT where I come from, and it seriously complicates things. If you're cousins by some marriage though, tell him not to treat you like a kid. Go out with him if you like him, that way...

    Certainly sounds harmless and playful, but if it bothers you then let him know.
    Next time he dies it, swat him back or playfully scold him, but make certain he knows it's not something you like.

      Well, idk if I'm okay with it or not. That's why I asked. He's a nice handsome, intelligent guy, and I sometimes don't mind. It can be embarrassing though.
