Is it normal that my phone is calling weird strangers?

So, for the past three months my phone has been acting up. Whenever I call certain people in my contacts, a weird unknown man answers the phone. Whenever it does this, I never hear a callback ring. This is also happening when certain people from my contact list attempt to call me. This doesn't occur every time I go to call people, nor, when someone calls me. Is this normal? Could this possibly be phone hacking?

    Maybe the unknown man is you in a parallel universe and your phone is wormhole where you can communicate to other "you". Also, when other people are calling you, its the same thing. They're calling the other you in the other youniverse. Been there, been that, been nowhere.

    Its called ass dialing and its very common. Set a key lock on your phone and problem is solved. But for a more complex setting I think your problem is that ghosts from the other side are trying to contact you. Get your phone blessed by a priest and drink 3 cups of holy water. Im a Jedi Shaman, I know these things.

    I feel bad for the random guy that keeps getting called!

    If I were you I'd say its time to stop with the guessing games and get a new phone and new phone number, then transfer your contacts manually. Problem solved.

    @Faceless actually, I have a droid and my phone never ass dials because it has a lock.

    And to everyone else, now the voice is changing. I agree I don't think its phone hacking because of the fact that the voice changes everytime. It's just a annoyance. It is starting to effect the people who call me more. For example, the other night a friend of mine called and said someone answered, and hung up. It wasn't me because, I was watching tv and never even heard my phone ring. I will probably be calling verizon tomorrow to see if they can do anything about it.

    Next time it happens tell him to 'fuck off!'

    If it bothers you then change your phone and sim. Some companies even let you keep yr number.

    My phone has a dial selector which controls the whole phone and it rubs when its in my pocket and activates itself. It phones people constantly and a few times it's activated the SatNav. It weird sitting quietly in work and my pocket suddenly says "Turn left".

    Anyway, as for your issue, I doubt it's phone hacking (you wouldn't know about it). Have you spoke to the unknown man? Asked him who he is? Explained the issues you're having? Between you, you may be able to come to a resolution.
