Is it normal that my really aggresive dog likes my boyfriend?

My dog is really mean to people she doesn't know, but she loves my boyfriend. It normally takes her over a month to get used to someone and even longer to like them. However she absolutely adored my boyfriend after she met him only twice. Is this normal? I've heard dogs can tell when someone is a good person.

    Your dog senses how comfortable you are with him and acts accordingly. If he was to turn into an abusive jerk she would change her behavior real fast.
