Is it normal that my roommate says a total of five words?

I'm a freshman at the University of Florida and live in one of the school's residential facilities. There are four of us to the room, but there is an issue with one of our roommates. He only says four words "raw", "straight", "legit" and " "preciate' it". Is this normal?

Hahah sounds like a winner ; ) Well I would try starting a conversation with him and see if he opens up more? He probably feels a bit overwhelmed or is just not as open when meeting new people. Try that out and see where it goes.

  • Some people are like that, when he knows someone well enough he talks around them often, but to all others he doesn't talk much. I'm like that too except I almost never talk in front of strangers.

He might want to expand his vocabulary.
