Is it normal that my son is obsessed with his psp?

No matter where we go my son brings his PSP and plays it. I have no problem with it, all I am asking is... Is It Normal? Also, he has modified his "normal" PSP to have possably more features than the vita! This thing is his LIFE! Also he is young. By young I mean under 15 years old! I'm not against the PSP, I do support what he does too. He is doing something productive with his life too, instead of doing drugs or getting drunk! But is this normal for a boy around his age to be this obsessed with a peice of technology.

As long as he is still treating you and the family with respect, and not deviating from his normal routines too much it should be fine

When i i had a psp I used to play it constantly, but only for a couple months. I say its normal. I think its awesome he jail broke it too. I had a difficult time with that when i was 15. Sounds like a smart kid!

    • Anyone who knows how to read can jailbreak it with a website opened.

Go back 30 years, kids would play outside after homework and until it got dark outside. Today everyone has a cellphone at 7 years old with a facebook account. What the fuck is that? It's normal today but should it be? No in my opinion.

Probably not good if that's all he does all the time, but it's very common.

usually id say its normal, but the psp? its rubbish really its a ps2 in your hand. and although he has clearly jailbroken it, all that does is let you play old retro games and psp games for free. its not going to beat the vita thats for sure.

i love my ps3, whereas all my other consoles and handhelds never get touched.

Yes. He sounds like a genius. I suggest you encourage his love of video games, because one day he might become a video game designer:)

Drugs and alcohol will come too... I also do kind of stuff with technical stuff like jailbreaking, root etc. and also drink now =P

    Don't worry he'll be like that later^^

Make sure he maintains his real life friendships as well and gets outside for some sunshine. These addictions are a waste of a life and are not creating any real memories for him. One day he may look back and of course, blame you for not stopping him doing something productive with his time.

    Theres nothign wrong with it.

There a tonne of worse things he could be doing than playing videogames.

Be thankful he can hold his attention for so long and be so persistant at completing a task most kids get distracted and cant be bothered to finish thier sentence.

The kid next door is the same way with books. Can't keep him away from 'em. Says he's going to be a doctor one day, the crazy loon!
