Is it normal that my teacher doesn't undestand my problem solving?

I'm a college student and my math teacher doesn't understand how I solve the problems even though most of my answers are correct.
I still haven't memorized any of the formulas in calculus. and to be honest I don't understand them because I'm terrible at math. so I've developed some non-mathematical ways to solve math which no one understands.

is this normal?

If you have a different method of solving a math problem and it doesn't involve math, then you have to admit that it does seem difficult to understand. I say that if your teacher is really curious or you really want her/him to understand then stay after class and show the person how it is exactly that you solve problems.

I know what you mean. I had to get up and teach my teacher a thing or two occasionally in high-school. Love-hate thing starts for sure. xD

I wouldn't expect your math teacher to understand how you're doing calculus without using maths, but you may be able to explain your method to them.

I've really no idea how you can do math without math though. I know you could solve some bits of calculus using geometry and bits of algebra, but there are limits and that's still math.

Maybe you can explain what you're doing?
