Is it normal that my tv turned on by itself?

this one night I was preparing to go to sleep then I heard a buzzing sound than my tv turned on,is that weird or what?

    I had a TV that did that. A month later it just stopped working. Maybe your TV is gonna do the same?

    I used to have a cat that would somehow turn my air con system on during thenight. I'd see her in the morning sleeping on the sofa with the a/c remote by her paws

    In my neighborhood, kids sneak around after dark with a TV remote and turn people's TVs on all the time. If they are already on, they will push MUTE.

    Damn pranksters.

    What kind of TV it is? If it's "analogical" enough it might has some malfunction in the switches ... some old TVs has on/off buttons on them that may be glitching and turning it on. Some modern TVs may have some kind of programation to turn them on automatically, I guess?
