Is it normal that no one listens to what i have to say?

Every time I try to answer a teacher's question that she asks the class they don't hear me so someone else says what I said, and they get praised for it and I get nothing. I know I'm kinda a soft spoken person, but I try to speak up and no one still listens. Is it me, or the people that I would want to listen to me?

next time it happens get really angry and shout or talk really loudly and be like " why the fuck does every one fucking talk when I talk?!" then turn to the person/people who interrupted you and be like " shut the fuck up! just shut up..seriously " hahah that would be so fricken awesome!! nobody will ignore you again bonus points if you get sent to the office

Speak up. You got the answer, right? Defend that. Get some friends to support you.

Ugh normal, I always raise my hand like i'm freaking supposed to but the obnoxious idiots in my class who call everything out are the only one's who are ever heard and get any attention in class. No one ever listens to me, I'm not even that soft spoken, just fucking invisible to everyone.

  • Ask the teacher why are you there? and when they say to do work and then ask when you ask a question to the students what do you expect them to do? she will say answer the question then ask what are you in the school system when she says your a student then say to her then why arent you answering to a students answers to the questions you ask?

  • Even reading your paragraph I found myself drifting off.

Yes it's normal but next time it happens and people ignore you say loudly "Excuse me" and I guarantee people will pay more heed to you. By showing people you view what you're saying as worthy others will treat it as such as well.

You have confidence issues, once you can build yourself up to get over speaking out loud you'll be fine. You might notice in conversation people tend not to listen but wait for their turn to speak, you have to MAKE them listen.
