Call me old-fashioned but I think you still sometimes can't beat TV. Also it's a nice break from the internet sometimes. I probably spend more time on the internet than I do watching TV but I still like to watch TV even though I don't have cable.
Interesting... There's one main difference between TV and internet that I've thought about. On the net you have to make decisions, like, "where am I going here? what should I look up? which of these youtube suggestions should I follow? fuck google adds telling me to look for hotels in places I've been to months ago! can it really tell me what I'd like? etc..." while TV is a much more passive pastime. It's on and you watch. No responsibility or decision making.
Tv is shit without the internet though. Its to limited. You can plug your computer into a big screen and watch anything you want. Internet wins, you have access to everything and can watch anything. Cable or tv you just sit there passively and can only watch tv shows or movies.
But I watch most tv programmes on Netflix on my Xbox via the internet so I'm finding it hard to answer
