Is it normal that sometimes i feel limited by texting?

The other day, I was in the middle of a long drawn-out text conversation with a friend. I was becoming frustrated with having to type out a crap-load of instructions/direction and started to wish there was a better way to explain everything to the person on the other end because texting it was not working.

Then I remembered: I could call them.

How dumb is that? For a moment there, I forgot I could talk to them using my voice.
I rarely yap on the phone with my friends anymore; texting is so much easier, most of the time.

Talking about texting? Hehe, how many of you tried writing with an actual pen lately? I am a college student, we type everything. Last quarter i was asked to write an essay by hand... Boy, was it hard...

    Yes it's normal.

I kind of hate texting, but I text almost constantly every single day. Maybe I'm a tad bit old school for a college student...but truthfully, I would absolutely love to write letters and physically visit my friends rather than texting calling and emailing. I don't like how technology has changed us.

Sad but true. Conversations with voices are great.

      You're great.
I never got into texting cause on the old cell phones it just took me too damn long. And since I'm a cynic, when I can't use tone, I just sound like an asshole.

        Assholes are great.
Douchebags, are a whole different story.

Everyone's an asshole sometimes, so it's fine I suppose.

Anyway, I don't see the point of the new phones either, I thought phones were meant for texting and calling, not all that other crap.

Texting kinda saved me. Unless it's work I don't talk too much -on the phone or otherwise. However I do text a lot.

Haha this is so true. I text a lot but sometimes I feel like speaking aloud too. But then again, everything seems easier if you text.

Texting does limit quite a few things when it comes to serious conversations.
