Is it normal that sometimes it feels good to pluck out hairs?

Okay so, sometimes I'll be plucking my eyebrows and after a little bit it starts to feel good. Before I would just continue plucking and my eyebrows would end up WAY too thin and over plucked. But now once I finish my eyebrows I'll randomly start plucking out hairs on my arms or sometimes my legs too (if I haven't shaved them in awhile lol). It never feels as good because those hairs are much thinner. And even sometimes on my head, I'll pull out a strand of hair if it has a split end or something and the feeling when it gets pulled out feels SOOO good. Is this normal or am I just a total weirdo? Is there some sort of endorphin that gets released or something that could make it feel good?

    Sounds like trichotillomania.

I googled that term and I'm actually really surprised... I didn't know there was a real name for it. Although I'm pretty sure my case is very severe. Thanks though.

The only reason I said anything was because I have it too and I just wanted to let you know that you weren't alone. And you're welcome.

Oh okay. Well at least it isn't bad yet, just make sure to quit while you still can. It'll take time, but I think it's worth it. I still need to quit, I'm having a hard time with it.

This. And you want to get out of the habit sooner rather than later, because while it's one thing to pull out leg hairs, repeated pulling at specific sites can cause permanent damage to the follicles. So, I'm a girl but I have interesting bald... patterns on my scalp. It's *really* unfortunate.

There are various support groups and programmes to stop, which I would actually recommend looking into before it becomes the type of problem that you need to cover up with wigs/scarves/hairpieces etc.

Interestingly enough, children and animals sometimes pick up this behavior from their parents/owners. I have a friend with trich who has a cat that grooms large bald patches into its fur. I picked up my habit most likely from my mother, who has a much less severe case of it.

Children sometimes start with eyelashes. This causes a greater likelihood of eye infections.

I actually told my friends that I do this just yesterday. They say it isn't normal, but I like the feeling.
