Is it normal that the holocaust fascinates me?
I just find everything about the Holocaust so fascinating. Of course, it is absolutely horrible that it ever did happen. However, a part of me thinks that it's good that it did happen -- not because of all the deaths or the insane cruelty that people were put through, but at least, because it happened, it is less likely to happen again. Imagine if the Holocaust hadn't occurred -- it just seems to me too likely that something this horrible may happen on a much grander scale if we didn't have this already horrendous occurrence in history.
The main things that interest me about the Holocaust are the story of Anne Frank and, for some strange reason, Hitler. I've read Anne's diary countless times and Hitler fascinates me to no end. I find that he was such a complex man, like most of us are, and he actually thought he was doing a good thing. There's just so many depths to him and it's hard to explain my fascination. Of course, I know he was probably the most evil man that has ever walked this earth. He's probably the most evil man that ever will walk this earth for that matter. It still seems so fascinating that such a character could exist.
