Is it normal that the "is over of" method is so memorable to me?

I learned "is over of = percent over 100" in 6th grade and it's been the most memorable math method I have ever learned, even though it's not the most commonly used one for me. No one I know knows it though!! How is this?? I've used it to solve problems with people before and they acted like they never heard of this witchcraft!!

    i remember this one too. it is one of the few things in math i have not forgotten.

    Haha. In all honesty, that is one of the only methods i remember. I found it weird as well. In school we only practiced this for about two weeks, but yet i remember it so well.
