Is it normal that the lion from wizard of oz freaks me out?

Im 24 now and everytime I see the Lion on Wizard of Oz i get scared. Ever since i was kid it scared me. My friends & familly horrified me with my fear by teasing me and taunting me. They would say quotes from the lion and one of my friends crossed the line by dressing up as him for halloween knowing how terrified I get seeing it. I ended up screaming and crying feeling very embarassed and the taunting has gotten worse. My fear is turning into hatred and i feel asthough i might kill the next person who impersonates the character. Theres a homeless man that I have to walk past near my work everyday who sort of looks like a lion i hate it. Anyways i have to leave it at that because im starting to see the lion now.

    why does a fake lisping lion scare you so much?

    it's not as if it's going to attack you... i mean he's a coward. he's probably more afraid of you than you are of him.

    All the characters except the witch and Dorothy are freaky.

    The lion, tin man, and Scarecrow all looked like clowns. The lion and the tin man being the worse offenders. I prefer the characters form The Wiz. Everyone had a more cuddly feel to them then the originals.

    He scared the hell out of my brother, my cousin was scared by the wicked witch of the west, and I really didn't like the wizard. Reminded me of Darth Vader. What the hell does that say about my screwy family. Even our cat was scared of Toto the dog.
