Is it normal that the north remembers?

Think about it. You help your good friend overthrow a dynasty that ruled for a 1,000 years. His damn wife cheats on him with her own brother for shits sake, they have a brood of basterds and you find this out only to get accused of being a traitor and then beheaded.

Son of a bitch basterd cocksucking whore already.

That's the price of honor I guess.

I for one am not too into overthrowing thousand year old dynasties, but a larger brood of bastards couldn't be found than in US politics.

Yeah. I saw this was your post so I did.

I'm serious though... how do you keep your decent job with such weak English skills?

        I'm sincerely curious about that.

        • What's funny is I probably make more than you. Oh and since we walk around calling each other basterds all day at work I see the relevance on your question. I once got written up because I didn't spell it correctly in an email.

Oh my I misspelled it again.

I'm curious does your pretentious bullshit carry over in real life or do you just do it here because you're a pussy?

I should hope you do seeing as the price of living is much higher when you compare the two states. But I'm not inclined to brag about such things. That seems to be your gig.

As for my real life, yes and no. I am to jack off assholes in real life and online.

At least I am moving up in your eyes. I was a redneck, now I have improved to the pretentious injun professor. It means so much to me what people on a dumb website think of me... oh, wait. That's you.

  • Well to be fair, Robert cheated on Cersie with more people than she cheated on him with...Although the incest bit is...Ew.

Ned Stark was honorable but he wasn't smart with his honor like Tyrion is. That's what got him killed I think. His view that just because he's bluntly honorable that he thinks others will just accept his honorable acts.

I kinda miss Ned Stark now. Time to re-watch the first season! :D

    • I think Ned Stark was just honorable. To him, honor was it's own reward. He wouldn't consider a need to be smart about it.

Naive, foolish? Perhaps. Even so, that's Ned Stark.

As a big fan of the books, the reason why Ed was killed wasn't really explained in the TV show, but in the books:

Ed discovered that Joffrey wasn't heir and that Stannis was. Now Ed was given two options, accept Joffrey as the heir and the council would stay the same.

But if he chose Stannis, the council knew Stannis would have them all replaced. Not wanting to lose their power, once Ed chose Stannis, the council betrayed him and he was executed.

Just a bit of info (:

Yeah I am a great fan of the books...haven't seen the series yet, am waiting till George R Martin gets off his arse to write books 6 and 7.

Ned Stark was an honourable man and once he found out Joffrey wasn't Roberts heir but Jamie's he was basically fucked and had to die....poor Ned. :(

        Comment Hidden ( show )
      • Stannis is the man!

And the council had to make a choice. Keep order and have what is easily sold to everyone (Joffrey is the rightful heir) or upset everything, and perhaps invite revolution again.

        Honor is dangerous.

        Comment Hidden ( show )
      • The show did explain the whole Stannis being the heir thing if I remember it well enough, as Ned found out Joffrey was Cersie an Jaimie's child but I don't think it explained the council part, which may explain why Little Finger betrayed Ned at that momment? :P

I mean its normal because its part of the plot. Although the only reason why he pursued and threatened to reveal the secret was in revenge for his son, motivated by the actions of his wife. Not to mention it all started because of his wife's sister who was part of a love triangle spearheaded by some guy with no honorable house to live up to but his own.

The north now has gone to shit and I'm looking forward to see the rest of the story unfold without actually reading the book because I'm lazy like that.

I thought you were a raving lunatic until I read some of the responses. Apparently a lot of people know what you're talking about. I don't. I guess I live a sheltered life, but I really don't feel like I'm missing anything.
