It irritates me to know that if people don't like the english (Dubbed) version of anime they look up english versions of anime anyway and then bitch about it. I mean, wouldn't it make sense to avoid the Dubbed if one hates it so much? It's just dumb, if you ask me. If you like japanese-speaking things (Subbed) then only watch that and if you like English-speaking things (Dubbed) then watch dubbed. If you like both then watch both but don't complain if you don't like it and try ruining it for those who do like it. It's not hard to grasp.

    So if you don't like the voice actors used for the English dub, then you try to find a different dubbing of it? Then complain about it? I mean yeah that does sound annoying.

    I like watching in Japanese only that's what I do. Sometimes I do watch in engrish just to have a laugh.

    well the english dubs do sometimes suck but i dont speak fucking Japanese so I have no choice but to watch the shit and be upset.

    They do it with cartoons too, what really annoys me is the cartoon will be originally american so in english of course, and then for example germans will come in saying "this sounds horrible, it sounds better in german". even though the english is how the original creators wanted their character to sound. They also do this a lot with things like US office vs UK office. If you go on either you're bound to see some british people commenting about how "the US office sucks" and vice versa... really annoying. and I like looking at the different language/country versions of my favorite shows, i don't think they are better or worse, just different.

      The Office is a little different, since it's not a dub, it's an entirely separate American version.

      But you're right, you do get plenty of British people seeking it out on sites like YouTube just to bitch and moan, which seems unnecessary a lot of the time.

      I guess there's just a feeling that certain successful programs are almost sacred cultural exports, and as such their reputations are 'tainted' or 'damaged' in some way by being poorly remade. The fact that it tends to be the US remaking these British shows is another point of contention - I think a lot of Brits resent when a country as influential and rich as the US decides to adapt British concepts for an American audience rather than promote the original to a wider international audience. It can be misinterpreted as "nice idea, but we can do better with it".

      There is also a pretty bad track record for remakes which makes the cynicism and pessimism from British people that bit greater:
      - The Inbetweeners
      - Skins
      - Father Ted
      - Fawlty Towers (multiple attempts)
      - Blackpool (called Viva Laughlin!)
      - Cold Feet
      - The IT Crowd
      - Nevermind The Buzzcocks
      - Red Dwarf
      - Spaced
      - Teachers
      All totally failed remakes.

      But there have been some successes in recent times, like The Office, Shameless, House Of Cards as well as some of the reality shows. So maybe Brits will warm a little more to the idea of American remakes :P
