Is it normal that this is the way i think?

I go to university and I usually just get up put on something comfy to go to lectures in (sweatpants, jeans, shirt, jumper, boots, pumps etc). However, some people at the university dress up like its a damn fashion show, heels, TONS of make-up, done up hair, fur, brand bags...... I don't know if its just me but why? Why would you do that? I mean you look the same when u go out on the weekends as you do at university? I mean it must also take them quite a while to get ready in the morning just to come in for a 2-3 hour lecture then walk back home. Last time I check university didn't mean catwalk? It's not like these girls are hideous, they're pretty looking girls so why drown ur face in so much make up? It looks like you're going to a party... at 9am in the morning. I honestly don't think i'd be able to recognize some of them if they came in normal pants and no make-up. Am I the only one that finds this just plain weird and absolutely pointless? (I'm a girl by the way)
