Is it normal that transportation is the biggest issue in dating?

I dont think that's the only issue, probably many things combined. But the thing is I would want to start dating and find a relationship, but feel I cannot do online dating because I dont own a car and would depend on my parents to drive me to the destination. So they (mainly my mother, since she lives closest) need to approve it from the very start and I dont feel certain they will. I have nothing going on with anyone in real life, most people are already taken, some I simply not like enough that I could see myself with them. And nobody shows any interest in me (that I notice). I am not meeting new people at a nearly fast enough rate either. I am a woman in my mid 20s by the way. I never had a relationship before(or sex), but at this point in life I feel I want to start, either way I know that time may run out soon since I get too old (I dont want kids, but I heard women get past their attractive age after 20s or at best after 30s). Does anyone have the same type of issue?

I live in a city so i can bus and uber and whatnot, i also dont have a car. But i saw you cant do those things so im sorry to hear youre struggling. I wish you luck. If your parents are okay with just driving and waiting to meet your date once things get more serious that would be nice.

"would depend on my parents to drive me to the destination"??? This is not a very good reason, tbh. Uber, Lyft, bus, subway, train, bicycle, walking, skating, rollerblading...

    • Taxi is very expensive, train is completely out of reach (walking) and buses are very limited where I live. Most places also lack walkway and I'm not comfortable cycling on the actual car road (that's also in a relatively steep slope in both directions). Walking might be the most valid, but I would still have to walk over 5 kilometers (just one way) in forest terrain (since cant walk on car road) to get to the next somewhat central area, and I'm also afraid of the ants that are everywhere in the forest. Thanks for suggestions anyway, but I have reasons why I dont do any of these.

Is distance playing a part in this?

    • It probably would, I haven't really gotten started because of it.
