Is it normal that when i get stressed, i make macramé

I have made 10 macramé strands in the past 3 hours because I have been stressing about how the guy I like got asked by my teacher if on vacation he saw any cute girls there... He said yes and I can't really get over that. So now he is going to ask me out, but I really hate that he checks other girls out. And I let my anger out by doing macramé. IIN?

That's better than crying like I do. Macramé at least produces awesome bracelets and other things. Crying doesn't really solve much, I don't think. Though it depends on my stress level. I'm a crafty girl-I do it all-but if I'm too stressed I don't create. I just cry. So I'd say it's perfectly fine to put the negative energy in creative outlets. :) Having creative outlets is very important and everyone should have them. It'd solve a lot of the world's issues, I think. Anyway, yeah, it's normal.

I find crochet a great stress reliever as well. Macrame involves tying knots, doesn't it? Pulling them tight must feel very satisfying. A good release for tense feelings. Tying knots makes me think... a substitute for strangulation? Purely on a subconscious level of course.

  • Is this really about macrame? Tying knots to make plant hangers is sort of normal, for a crafty person.

    Actually sounds cute to me.

My mother always used to do macramé when my father was in a violent mood. If I saw a load of pot plants being brought indoors, reading for their fitting, I got on my bike and got out of there as quick as my little boy legs could pedal me.

I'm amazed I still had this instinct about it.

As for your problem, "see" has two meanings. He might have meant "noticed" as opposed to "dated".

It's normal. I've been thinking about taking up knitting/crocheting as a form a stress release, but I have little to no patience. Lol. If he stresses you out that much and if you feel like you can't trust him in the love department, than maybe you should look elsewhere in the love department?
