Is it normal thati miss the dean in my high school

Ok, so I'm a junior in High school and last week I found out that the dean of students was no longer our dean he resigned. So my question is , is it normal to miss him? When I first found out I cried. The dean was like a big brother to me, he always teased me, we sometimes would fight and yell at each other but at the end of the day he was always there for me and I could tell him anything.The other students in the building really don't seem to mind that he is no longer there so is it normal that I am sad that he is no longer our dean?
